ZLAN9153 Optical fiber serial port server is an industrial serial port - optical fiber conversion equipment developed by Shanghai ZLAN Information Technology Co., LTD. The device can achieve a transparent transmission of RS232/RS485/RS422 data and optical fiber.
ZLAN9153 fiber adopts single-mode single-fiber SC interface, using a single fiber transmission can save fiber cost when long-distance transmission. The power input can be a plug or 2-wire terminal, and provides a wide voltage input range of 9 to 24V.

Unlike ordinary Serial to optical fiber products (e.g. ZLAN9163), the ZLAN9153 does not simply convert a serial level signal into a fiber signal. Instead, serial data is converted into TCP/IP signals and then transmitted over optical fibers. Therefore, the optical fiber signal of ZLAN9153 can be directly connected to the Fibre Channel switch and directly participate in the data transmission and exchange at the network layer.
ZLAN9153 basically has two uses:
1.ZLAN9153 is used in pairs/pairs, that is, two optical fiber interfaces of ZLAN9153 are connected, and RS485/RS232/RS422 signals can be extended through optical fibers to reach 20 kilometers. This method can also be implemented using ZLAN9163, which is more cost-effective. Please refer to the "Two Ways of 485 RPM fiber" for the choice of two models.
2. If ZLAN9153 is used in a single mode, connect it directly to an optical switch or connect it to an Ethernet switch through the Fiber to Ethernet (ZLAN9100). After that, the ZLAN9153 can exchange data with any network device in the network. If it is to communicate with a computer, then the virtual serial port software (ZLVircom) can be installed on the computer to collect the data of the ZLAN9153 serial port through the virtual serial port.
The second usage is the advantage of ZLAN9153, which not only reduces the number of Serial to optical fiber from 1 pair to 1 pair, but also directly uses the network to collect data without using the serial port on the computer side. The computer side can also use virtual serial port software, at this time the original host computer software can also be modified into network communication, can be realized directly. ZLAN9153 truly realizes the function of optical fiber serial port server.
* Note: ZLAN9153 is divided into two sub-models: ZLAN9153-3 (A terminal) and ZLAN9153-5 (B terminal), which must be different sub-models if used in tandem. That is: A terminal machine to B terminal machine; B end machine is connected to A end machine; The submodel cannot be connected. When connecting the ZLAN9153 to an optical switch, ask whether the optical port of the optical switch is end A or end B. If end A is used, select ZLAN9153-5. Otherwise, select ZLAN9153-3.
